Welcome to the 13th Bomb Squadron Association website, which encompasses over 100 years of Grim Reaper history. This is the story of one of the oldest active duty squadrons in the United States Air Force. The squadron was first constituted on June 14, 1917 shortly after the United States entered World War I and has been engaged in almost every major conflict since, including World War II, the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and the Global War on Terrorism.
The 13th Bomb Squadron Association is undergoing a transition as our alumni from the World War II, Korea, and Vietnam eras pass the torch to Reapers from the Global War on Terrorism era during which time the squadron was reactivated as a B-1 squadron at Dyess Air Force Base from 2001-2005 after which time the squadron moved to Whiteman Air Force Base where the 13th Bomb Squadron currently serves as the formal training squadron for B-2 pilots.
We are excited to announce the introduction of our modernized website. New features of this website include cross platform compatibility, a new web-based membership registry enabling alumni to join the Association and update their contact information directly on the website, and the ability to make voluntary donations on the website. We have also revamped the content on our website while maintaining the historical information dating back to the squadron’s inception and electronic access to the Invader. You will now find current events from the 13th Bomb Squadron and Whiteman AFB, program updates on the B-21 Raider, and preliminary plans for the next reunion later this year.
Our Association is at a critical crossroads. Our Korean War alumni established the Association in 1984 and have been running it ever since with the help of our Vietnam War alumni. We now need the youngest generation of Reapers who have served since 9/11 to step up and volunteer to carry the torch by becoming active members to include five to seven members who are willing to assume the responsibilities of the Board to keep our Association alive and preserve the heritage of this historic squadron.
As a member, you can experience the squadron motto, “Reaper Pride.” CLICK HERE to learn more about membership and volunteer opportunities. Lastly, we thank all those who have contributed to the Association and this website and we welcome your comments and contributions as we sustain this tribute to an all-American squadron.
Reaper Pride,
